Goa to Mumbai 4-Nov-12

Back to Mumbai on an Air India A321.

A right hand side window seat for departure to see the 3x IL-38s (two with covers on, one ready to go), 3x Do228s and some MiG-29Ks at the westerly end of the runway.  On the other side of the aircraft was a 748.  None of the Sea Harriers were awake at 0700.

But unfortunately, the camera decided to focus on the window not the aircraft, so the footage is awful.  When will I learn?

Down the end of the runway are 6 MiG-29Ks looking a little stored?

And at Mumbai, we needed to transfer from domestic to international terminals.  A bus is provided free of charge and much to my amusement it does a slow (max 30km/hr) trip airside, passing more or less everything apart from the bizjets and Mil-8s on the other side of the runway.  Think Amsterdam airside tour!

On the beach in Goa

Although we didn't see any IL-38s fly, there was a fair amount of Sea Harrier activity and Mig-29K too.

Here's the video that the above shot was grabbed from

And there's Allouettes too

Thiruvananthapuram to Mumbai to Goa 31-Oct-12

Departing from TRV on a Jet Airways Boeing 737-800 for Mumbai.  An Indian AF 748 is visible in the distance

On arrival into Mumbai, there's a Kingfisher ATR-72 stored on the main apron

The JetKonnekt Boeing 737-700 to Goa was running over an hour late, which meant arrival into Goa in the dark.  So no footage from there although a seat on the left side of the aircraft gave a nice view of the Indian Navy IL-38s.

Chennai to Thiruvananthapuram 27-Oct-12

Connecting from the BA flight from Heathrow to Spicejet Dash 8 VT-SUH was fairly painless.

On departure, the stored Kingfisher ATR-72s and an A320 can be seen together with what looks like an engineless Paramount Airways E170.

There's another Kingfisher A320 poking out of the hangar and what looks like 4 Indian Coastguard Do228s closer to the aircraft

Arriving at Thiruvananthapuram with a view of the International Terminal T2

Spicejet and other domestics arrive at the older, domestic, terminal T1.  In the distance an Indian AF 748 can be seen (not in the video below though)

Opposite the airfield is a military base with what looked like a Percival Prentice as a gate guard.  I can't find any data on what the ID of this aircraft is.

Goa 6-Nov-2008

Thinking of a previous trip here in 2008, I thought I should put the photos from the museum and from the terminal (upstairs)

Goa Museum Nov-2008

The Indian Navy museum is outside the Dabolim base perimeter and costs around 10p to get in.  Or 30p if you want to use a camera!
